The Moldovans will be soon able to submit applications to the Italian authorities to have the driver’s license of type DL 2015 converted. In the May 18 meeting of the Cabinet, the representatives of the ICT Ministry presented the bill to amend the agreement between the Government of Moldova and the Government of Italy concerning the conversion of driver’s licenses that was signed in Rome on November 27, 2003, IPN reports.

According to the ICT Ministry, the request to amend the agreement and the annexes to it was made following complaints from Moldovans who possess driver’s license of type DL 2015. These said that when they asked to have the given licenses converted into Italian licenses they faced problems related to the recognition of this type of license by the competent Italian authorities.

Taking into account the urgency and importance of this issue, the ICT Ministry drafted a verbal note to amend the agreement and the annexes that include technical equivalence tables and the list of driver’s licenses issued by the Moldovan authorities.

The Italian authorities are to take a decision to this effect.
