The sixth, eighth and eleventh graders will receive new Civic Education textbooks, while the eleventh graders also new Universal Literature textbooks in the new academic year. Contacted by IPN, head of the Special Textbooks Stock Gheorghe Garnet said the textbooks are being transported to the District Education Divisions and will be distributed to all the education institutions by September 1. Delays are possible at the Russian teaching schools as the textbooks need to be translated.

“Such textbooks haven’t been printed earlier,” stated Gheorghe Garnet.

According to him, all the textbooks for the fourth and eighth grades were renewed. “For the new school year, there were printed 1.2 million textbooks that cost about 9 million lei, allocated from the state budget, and 13 million lei, allocated from the funds of the Special Textbooks Stock,” said Gheorghe Garnet.

The textbooks will be also translated into the Gagauz, Bulgarian, and Ukrainian languages, but these books will be printed in a low number.
