A new monthly sate benefit of 100 lei has been made available to three groups of beneficiaries, Info-Prim Neo reports. Maria Borta, head of the National Social Insurance Corporation, told a news conference on Wednesday that the three categories include Afghanistan war veterans, Nistru war veterans, and victims of the 1917-1990 political repressions. Potential beneficiaries should submit applications until November 30 and if this deadline is met, payments will be made for the past months as well, from the measure's entry into force on August 3. Otherwise, payments will be made from the moment of submission. Afghanistan and Nistru war veterans are entitled to this benefit irrespective of whether they also receive pensions or social aid. In the case of victims of political repressions, only recipients of pensions and social aid are eligible. Applications may be submitted at the territorial offices of the National Social Insurance Corporation, at the Ministry of the Interior or the Ministry of Defense. Applicants must produce their ID card and a certificate confirming their status.
