The State Tax Service and the Center of Information Technology in Finance launched the automated information system “Fulfillment of fiscal obligations through the service for collecting local taxes and duties”. The system is designed to optimize the monitoring, calculation and payment of local taxes and duties managed by the tax collection services and the local taxes within mayor’s offices, IPN reports.
According to the Center of Information Technology in Finance, the system was piloted in 11 mayor’s offices in different districts and was then supplemented with new functions. The Center’s acting director Vitalie Coceban said the system’s functions automate the processes of calculating and paying local taxes and duties and this will ease the activity of tax collectors of mayor’s offices.
Based on the number of the payment order received from the tax collector, the taxpayer pays the local taxes and duties by one operation through the service “Online payment of taxes and duties by private individuals” that is available on the State Tax Service’s website and is accessible to private individuals connected to electronic fiscal services and to persons who do not have a digital authorization.
Taxpayers can also use the governmental electronic payments service MPay.
