New specialized department set up within PDM

The Democratic Party (PDM) announced the constitution of a new specialized department that is in charge of the formulation of the party’s policies on education, culture, youth and sport. The department is coordinated by MP Oleg Tulea, who is the party’s deputy chairman. It brings together experts in the field from the Academy of Sciences, university teachers, people of art, and representatives of student circles, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the PDM, Oleg Tulea said the department’s goal is to design studies, strategies and programs concerning the reforms initiated in education. “We aim first of all to form, within the PDM, a team of professionals, who, by initiatives and actions, will contribute to actually reforming the education system and would formulate proposals for the benefit of the youth,” stated the Democrat.

The department’s head Ion Guceac, secretary of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, said they have a number of proposals and initiatives. “First of all, we will focus on the working out of a strategic document concerning the modernization and development of the education system in Moldova, which would be approved of by all the participants in governance. In order to provide a new platform for debates on the problems faced in Moldova’s education sector, we intend to restore the Association of Democratic Professors,” he stated.

So far the PDM launched five of its 13 specialized departments whose goal is to work out the party’s polices in different areas.
