A SMURD like rescue post was created in Edinet to intervene in northern Moldova. The post was designed as an additional arm of the Balti SMURD Center in a move to cover a larger intervention area, in Edinet and Briceni districts, IPN reports.

The SMURD post in Edinet will have a special vehicle and 12 employees, who will include SMURD paramedics working for the Emergencies Service and SMURD medical assistants working for the Ministry of Health. These are trained to provide assistance to persons in danger.

The SMURD post is housed by the Edinet Emergencies Division. It was set up as part of the SMURD transfrontier project. Earlier, there were opened two dispatcher’s offices in Balti and Cahul, which also include SMURD teams.
