A new sewer pipe is to be put into operation on Grenoble St in Chisinau. SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” initiated the works to replace the old pipe that is in a very bad state and has been used for twice longer than recommended, IPN reports.
During an inspection visit to the building site, the company’s technical production director Victor Croitoru said the sewer pipe been has been managed by SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” since 1985. This carries away sewerage from Ialoveni town, a part of Schinoasa quarter and a part of Botanica district. The pipe should have been used for 16 years, but this period was exceeded twice.
Victor Croitoru noted that polypropylene pipes with the diameter of 800 mm will be laid on a distance of 200 meters there. This type of pipes can be used for over 50 years. The works will be completed in about two-three weeks.
“We hope we will not stop at Grenoble St and will replace sewer pipes all over the city given that the program to develop water supply and sewerage services, financed with money from European banks, envisions separate funding for the rehabilitation of sewerage networks,” said the technical production director.
Over 1 million lei is to be invested in the rehabilitation of the sewer pipe at 9 Grenoble St.
