New secretaries of state named at Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Health

The outgoing Government named a number of secretaries of state at the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection. According to acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi, the appointment decisions were taken following the Constitutional Court’s judgments. The named persons come from the system and have nothing to do with politics and their experience can help the executive to better manage the health crisis, IPN reports.

Starting with March 16, the vice director of the Emergency Medicine Institute Igor Curov will take up as secretary of state at the Ministry of Health. Similar posts will be held by Denis Cernelea, who since last May has managed the COVID-19 Center at Moldexpo, and by Vasile Cușca, who serves as division head at the Ministry of Health.

The posts of secretary of state at the Ministry of Justice will be occupied by Alexandru Pleșca, vice director of the National Probation Inspectorate, and by Tatiana Tverdun, currently division head at the Ministry.

Acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi said the given posts will be held only during the mandate of the outgoing Government. When a new Cabinet is voted in, the persons confirmed today as secretaries of state will have to leave.

The Cabinet also confirmed Valentina Iusuphodjaev, who was chosen at a contest, as director of the National Cinematography Center managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research.
