Knowledge of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova and of the Romanian language for acquiring Moldovan nationality and the right of permanent residence will be assessed based on new regulations. The document approved by the Government stipulates the method of organizing and holding exams, with some of the procedures being simplified for the benefit of applicants, IPN reports.
Under the document, the candidates who score 75 or more points out of 100 in the exam to assess linguistic competence for obtaining the right of permanent residence in the Republic of Moldova will be spared of the exam to assess knowledge of Romanian language for getting nationality.
Also, it will be possible to organize a joint exam for the two categories of applicants. Only the passing score will be different – 50 points for a permanent residence permit and not less than 75 points for acquiring nationality.
The application to take the exam will be submitted to the National Agency for Curriculum and Assessment of the Ministry of Education and Research, which is responsible for testing.
