New rules for flying to Germany and the UK

Until March 31 inclusive, the Moldovans who enter Germany must present the negative result of the COVID-19 test done earlier than 48 hours before entering the country. If the person travels by plane, the negative test result must be presented at check-in and at the request of the federal police or the responsible authorities when being subject to border control in Germany, Air Moldova airline has said.

As of January 18, the passengers heading for the UK must do a PCR COVID-19 test within three days before arrival. At airport check-in, all the passengers, except for persons younger than 11, must present a negative test result in the original, in English, French or Spanish, IPN reports.

The passengers who arrive in Germany from red zone countries must self-isolate for ten days upon arrival. Before departure, they must fill out an online PLF form.

In the case of the UK, the test result must contain the name and surname, birthdate or age of the passenger, the test result and data, the name and contacts of the lab where the test was done. The test result can be presented on paper or in electronic form.

The National Extraordinary Public Health Commission of Moldova on January 8 decided to resume the regular and charter passengers flights with the UK that were suspended on December 23, 2020 after the UK reported a new strain of the novel coronavirus detected on its territory.
