New rules for Consumer Protection Agency
The Government has approved a set of new rules on how the Consumer Protection Agency monitors the market. Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar stated that the document will ensure the necessary degree of transparency both in the inspection procedure, as well as in applying legal measures after inspections, reports Info-Prim Neo.
The approved regulation described the development stages of an inspection, starting with preparations for inspection and until its completion, and the inspection’s requirements at different stages of the products’ cycle.
A component of the regulation is the form used during an inspection – how to fill them, post them and forward them to the seller or producer. The forms will be numbered and be strictly monitored, in order to eliminate any corruption premises for Consumer Protection Agency employees.
According to the Deputy Premier, the application of these rules will contribute to the protection of consumers and to the reduction of potential breaches committed by businesses towards consumers.
