Тhe leaders of the Alliance for European Integration keep silent. After the July 24 round of negotiations, when they left without making statement for the press, these met today, July 27, and drove again away after the meeting without appearing before the journalists, IPN reports.
According to Democratic MP Sergiu Sarbu, an agreement concerning the candidate for premiership hasn’t been yet reached and the leaders of the Alliance for European Integration will make statements only when a consensus is reached.
Last week, the PLDM, which is to propose the candidate for Prime Minister in accordance with the AEI agreement, fielded interim minister of education Maia Sandu for premiership, but this seems not to be supported by the coalition partners owing to the conditions she put forward.
On July 25, the parliamentary factions were contacted by the staff of President Nicolae Timofti and invited to the consultations with the head of state to agree a candidate for Premier. But the meeting was rescheduled for several times.
