President Nicolae Timofti had a telephone discussion with the new Prime Minister of Romania Dacian Ciolos. Timofti congratulated Ciolos on his appointment and invited him to pay a visit to Chisinau. The invitation was accepted, IPN reports.
The head of state congratulated the Romania official on his appointment as head of Government and wished his success in his work. The sides agreed to intensify the political and economic contacts between the two states, for the benefit of the people from the two sides of the Prut River.
Dacian Ciolos assured Nicolae Timofti that Romania remains a firm supporter of Moldova’s European course and the economic and social projects financed by the Romanian state in Moldova will be continued and fostered. In this connection, he underlined the importance of forming a pro-European government in Chisinau.
