New road helps inhabitants of Scoreni to easier get to Chisinau

A new road will connect Scoreni village of Straseni village and Chisinau now that 6 km of the road that joins the village to the Chisinau-Leuseni international road, through Malcoci, were asphalted. The new road will facilitate the trips of the villagers who work in Chisinau and travel daily to the capital city, IPN reports.

The village is situated 30km from the city. Most of the villagers who work in Chisinau had to cover an additional distance of 13 km through Straseni to get to the capital, the Government’s press service says in a communiqué.

“The construction of this road section is a motivation for those who work in Chisinau as, when a very good road appears, the people are interested in keeping the place of residence,” Prime Minister Iurie Leanca said during a visit to inspect the road. He promised that a sewerage system and an aqueduct will be built in the village.

Mayor of Scoreni Svetlana Tabacari said the villagers are eager to gain access to drinking water of a high quality. During the Premier’s visit, they also discussed the possibility of cleaning up the Isnovat River and of replacing the roof of the local kindergarten.

The Regional Development Agency Centru allocated 26 million lei for building the road and drainage channels, while the villagers contributed 350,000 lei. The works began last summer.
