New rescuers unit set up in Stefan Voda district

A rescuers unit was opened in Talmaza village of Stefan Voda district to provide services to the village and the neighboring communities, IPN reports.

According to the Civil Protraction and Emergencies Service, the personnel of the rescuers unit will include six selected local firemen. The civilians had been trained by professionals during several weeks. After testing the obtained knowledge, these received fire proximity suits. The Service provided a firefighting vehicle that will be used to deal with emergencies.

In accordance with the program for strengthening the rescuers and firefighting service in rural areas, 100 rescuers units will be set up in Moldova until 2020. Since 2011, there were opened 20 such units that employ civilian firemen.
