New regulations concerning the public water supply and sewerage service took effect. The document regulates the legal relations between the operator and end-user regarding the connection or adjustment of the internal water supply and sewerage systems and the supply and payment of the drinking and technological water and sewerage service, IPN reports.

According to a press release of the public utility SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau”, the regulations offer clarity over a number of matters of common interest for end-users and the operator and provide solutions for signing direct contracts between the company and each apartment owner and for resigning the contracts with apartment building mangers.

The regulations, which were already published in the Official Gazette, also contain information about the supplied volumes of water, metering, invoicing, payment, disconnection over debts, suing and penalties for non-payment of debts as well as provisions about the approval of a new tariff for apartment owners who will sign direct contracts with the operator.
