New regulations concerning primary medical assistance

The Government authorized the rules of organizing the primary medical assistance in Moldova in a bid to ensure the proper functioning of the family doctor’s offices together with the institution of the free family medicine practice, IPN reports.

“We have many young doctors who will go to work and practice individually. No one can persuade us that the doctors or the people can refuse medical assistance of a high quality, while the doctor an additional income too,” stated Prime Minister Pavel Filip.

The new rules of organizing the primary medical assistance will be implemented in several stages: for practices in rural areas without family doctors – when the Government decision takes effect; for practices in Chisinau municipality (except for villages and communes that form part of the municipality) – as of July 1, 2019 and for other practices of the family doctor – as from January 1, 2019.
