New regulations concerning judicial expertise

The Cabinet approved three regulations concerning the ensuring of judicial expertise in Moldova, IPN reports.

The regulations on the organization and functioning of the National Center for Judicial Expertise specify the mission, structure and duties of the Center. This will be managed by the Ministry of Justice with the legal status of agency and will have 76 employees. Among the duties of the Center’s employees are to ensure legal and extralegal expertise, to organize workshops, scientific conferences and continuous training courses for judicial experts and to implement the scientific provisions regarding judicial expertise.

The Center will have local subdivisions in Balti municipality and Cahul town, while its activities will be financed with state budget funds.

The other two documents are the regulations concerning the work of the judicial experts assessment and accreditation commission and the regulations on the holding of the judicial experts qualification exam and the model of the license for working as judicial expert.

The judicial experts assessment and accreditation commission will consist of nine members and will be the only organizational body empowered to examine persons who apply to be authorized to work as judicial experts or to be conferred qualification degrees.
