The Government approved a bill concerning mandatory civil liability insurance for damage caused by motor vehicles. This contains special provisions on the suspension, resolution and termination of the civil liability insurance contract and norms concerning the application of civil liability insurance, IPN reports.
“Those who had an accident at least once know how hard it is to come into possession of damages. This bill replaces Law No. 414 that now regulates this area and comes with a series of improvements to these provisions that clearer and more exactly regulate the insurance contract. The bill more accurately specifies the responsibilities of the insurer and the ensured, the minimum civil liability coverage,” said Minister of Finance Dumitru Budianschi.
The new regulations enable to apply the direct settlement procedure in the case of civil liability insurance. The insurers authorized for mandatory external civil liability insurance will be able to issue Green Card insurance certificates in an electronic format, according to the models approved by the Council of Bureaus of Motor Insurers.
