New radio station to appear in Moldova
A new radio station – “911” – will be launched on Moldova’s broadcasting market on the frequency 91.1. The Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) issued the broadcast license after a contest to distribute this radio frequency that involved three more stations, Info-Prim Neo reports.
BCC chairman Marian Pocaznoi said the radio station “911” will be a consultative one. “It is a very interesting project. The people will be able to put questions about legal, medical and other matters and will receive answers live,” he stated.
The radio station’s representative said the radio station was named “911” based on the common emergency telephone number. The persons facing any type of problem will put questions during programs and will receive answers. The station is financed by SRL Mega Radio and will broadcast round-the-clock. Its broadcast schedule will include music and programs.
The 91.1 frequency was also disputed by Busuioc FM, Novaya FM and Traditii FM.
Under the Broadcasting Code, the radio station must start work within a year. Otherwise, the license is withdrawn.
