New projection of logo of “I vote” campaign. ELECTIONS 2015

A lights show to project the logo of the campaign “I vote” was held in the center of Chisinau on the night of June 20. The voters were thus invited to take part in the second round of the local elections on June 28. Before the first round, of June 14, the lights show was staged on the Triumphal Arch, IPN reports.

The show is part of the civic awareness-raising campaign centering on the importance of voting, staged by the Center of Continuous Electoral Training in partnership with the Central Election Commission. The logo “I vote” was projected on the National Palace “Nicolae Sulac”, on the background of Moldova’s national colors, between 9pm and 2am. The voters were this way encouraged to take part in elections.

The Center’s director Natalia Iuras said the people showed interest in this event. “They were curious to see what’s going on. They took pictures and admired the lights. Arousing their curiosity, we took one more step towards making the people go and vote,” she stated.

Similar events were organized before the first round of voting in Balti, Cahul, Comrat, and Ungheni.

Within this voter information campaign, the Center of Continuous Electoral Training also staged the Umbrella of Democracy for young voters from high schools and a series of flashmob meetings. The promotional buses continue to tour the country to inform the voters.

The Center of Continuous Electoral Training is a public institution that trains electoral functionaries to organize free and fair elections, according to the international norms. The experts share their experience with colleagues from Romania, Ukraine, Albania, Belarus and Turkey and are authorized to accredit electoral officials in Moldova and abroad.
