New portal for reporting cases of corruption to be launched

The Journalistic Investigations Center in July will launch a new portal whereby the Moldovans will be able to report cases of corruption, abuse of power and non-transparence in institutions. According to the Center’s head Cornelia Cozonac, the portal is created with the help of a Romanian company and will represent one of the Center’s activities within the media campaign “Be active and fight corruption!”, Info-Prim Neo reports. The portal anticoruptia.md will work based on an interactive map, where there will appear red signs in the places where the population will identify acts of corruption. The published reports will be submitted by members of the Center to competent institutions for examination. The visitors of the website will be able to publish their personal data or to keep their identity secret. The persons will inform about the acts of corruption they know by filling out a questionnaire that is being worked out. The recorded cases will be investigated by journalists of the Center and the relevant institutions. After the law enforcement bodies examine the cases, the results will be published on the website so that everyone will be able to see if measures were taken to deal with the reported cases or not.
