New political party

Ana Gutu, former MP and ex-member of the Liberal Reformist Party (PLR), announced the creation of the Political Party “Right”. On this occasion, a roundtable meeting entitled “Politics in a different way. Solutions to the social, economic and political crisis in Moldova. About the necessity of forming a new political party of the right” is held on September 5, IPN reports.

The event will be attended by MEP Monica Macovei, who heads the Romanian Party M10. No details are yet known about the new party, but the meeting is expected to involve a number of former colleagues of Ana Gutu from the PLR, including Gheorghe Salaru, Vitalie Marinuta (who joined later the Democratic Party), Dorin Dushchyak, and Anatol Arhire.

Ana Gutu was earlier a member of the Liberal Party. In 2013, together with a number of colleagues, among whom Ion Hadarca, she demanded reforming the party and naming Dorin Chirtoaca as the party’s chairman, instead of Mihai Ghimpu. As this didn’t happen, they left the party and founded the Liberal Reformist Party that is headed by Ion Hadarca. Afterward, Ana Gutu left this party, with a number of members of the PLR defecting to the Democratic Party.
