New pipeline will supply drinking water to Durlesti

The Chisinau water supplier will soon put in commission a new pipeline that will provide the residents of Durlesti town with drinking water. The people living in the upper part of the town will have running water even in summer, when problems appear owing to low pressure.

SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” director Constantin Becciev Monday said the pipeline is about 4.4 km long and the pipe’s diameter is 315 mm. Through the agency of a public-private partnership, there were built another 4 km of network. Thus, 8 km of pipelines will supply water to Durlesti, including to the homes in the new quarter.

Constantin Becciev also said that a special duct was laid in “Valea Morilor” Park of Chisinau to prevent leakages of rainwater and sewage into the lake. “We will reconstruct several more sewerage wells in “Valea Morilor” Park. The works will be completed in several weeks. There was set up a barrier to redirect the sewerage system in case of torrential rain,” he stated.

The director informed that within the street rehabilitation project supported by the EBRD, works are performed on the pipes going on the streets C. Negruzzi, V. Alecsandri and a part of 31 August St. The supplier will also carry out works on the section between Stephan the Great Blvd. and V. Alecsandri St.
