New periods of time introduced for issuing identification papers

The identity card could no longer be obtained during three and six hours, while the passport during three and six hours and ten calendar days. The Public Services Agency suspended the given services from April 15. Instead, the identity card and the passport could be obtained the day an application is submitted, IPN reports.

The papers will be issued the same day by the Centru service of the Public Services Agency, based at 56 Alexandru cel Bun St in Chisinau. Applications will be accepted from Monday through Friday between 8am and 1pm, while the documents will be handed over between 4:30pm and 5pm. The Centru service will also issue identification papers during 24 hours and five calendar days.

The service works from Monday through Saturday between 8am and 5pm. On Saturday, the office will provide only services for issuing papers during five workdays, 15 and 30 calendar days.

The Chisinau multifunctional centers No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 will issue papers only during five workdays, 15 and 30 calendar days.

According to the Public Services Agency, the measures were taken in a move to optimize the process of issuing identification papers to applicants.
