In order to take part in elections, the new parties can register at the Ministry of Justice not later than two months before the elections, secretary of the Central Election Commission Andrei Volentir has told IPN.
Sixty days before the elections, the Ministry of Justice issues an extract from the Register of Political Parties registered by that moment, submits it to the Central Election Commission and makes it public. “Only those parties will be able to run in elections,” stated Andrei Volentir.
Currently, there are 40 political parties in Moldova. The last three parties included in the register are: the Liberal Reformist Party (December 2013), the People’s Force Party (June 2013), and the Renaissance Party (October 2012).
If the next parliamentary elections take place at the end of this November, as expected, the parties must register until the end of September so as to be able to take part in elections.
