Ambassador Wolf Dietrich Heim, who will serve as the Special Representative for the Transnistrian Conflict Settlement within the Austrian OSCE Chairmanship in 2017, will pay a visit to Chisinau. The announcement was made in a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Gheorghe Balan, on the sidelines of the 23rd Meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council that is taking place in Hamburg, Germany, IPN reports.

In a press release, the Reintegration Bureau says the goal of the visit is to discuss organizational aspects and activities that will be carried out during his term in office.

The Deputy Prime Minister said they aim to stimulate the negotiation process and obtain substantial results that will maintain functional all the existent dialogue platforms and will actively interact with all the relevant players. They will also insist on solving acute problems faced by the people from both sides of the Nistru River, directing maximally the efforts towards ensuring the continuity of talks in the 5+2 format and towards identifying viable solutions to the problems from all the three baskets of the agenda of negotiations.
