A new mural painting was unveiled today, October 1, on an apartment building located on Decebal Blvd in Chisinau. It was made by a group of Polish and Moldovan artists on the initiative of young Moldovan artist Radu Dumbrava, who is a student of the Chisinau Academy of Music Theater and Plastic Arts. It represents a boy on a bicycle and a stork flying above him, IPN reports.
The painting makes reference to the conceptions of life and freedom. The child goes on a journey during which he will gain wings for flying above the world. The storks are representative birds both in Poland and in Moldova.
The Chisinau City Hall and the Polish Institute in Bucharest, which initiated the project four years ago, this year joined the Urban Culture Institute and the Gdańsk School of Mural as well as the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland.
The painting on the external wall of the apartment building located at 64 Decebal Blvd is the fourth made so far. All the four paintings were made on buildings in Botanica district.
