New ministers sworn in

The ministers of the Gaburici Government took an oath of allegiance before President Nicolae Timofti and in the presence of representatives of the diplomatic corps, IPN reports.

“I swear to give all my power and knowledge for the prosperity of the Republic of Moldova, to obey the Constitution and the country’s laws, to defend democracy, the basic rights and fundamental freedoms, sovereignty, independence, unity and the territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova,” promised the ministers.

President Nicolae Timofti welcomed the February 18 decision of Parliament by which the new Government received a vote of confidence, saying this decision had been awaited by society ding two months and a half. “In the immediate period, you must take measures to remedy the financial, economic and social situation, first of all the situation on the currency market. The competent ministries should focus on the country’s internal and external security. The commitments we made to the people and our development partners must be fulfilled,” said the head of state.

Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici said he and his team assumed great responsibility, but they are confident that they will manage to implement the government program for 2014-2018.
