New ministers ready to act
The new ministers pledged they will contribute to the implementation of the new government program. Each of them set out priorities and promised to be active and work transparently, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Iurie Leanca said that the institution that he heads will set clear objectives in the relations with the neighbors and the foreign partners. “We must clearly define the functions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, which earlier employed persons in non-transparent conditions,” he said.
Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Valentina Buliga said that she is not bothered with the fact that she is the only woman in the Cabinet as there would be more women holding posts of deputy minister.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar said that the economic recovery and transparency in the energy sector will be among the top priorities of the Economy Ministry.
Minister of Justice Alexandru Tanase said he will promote the reform of the legal system. “We will make every effort to achieve the objectives regarding the legal system formulated in the government program,” he said.
Communist MPs did not approve of the candidacy of Anatol Salaru for Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure, saying he does not have the necessary abilities as he is a doctor by profession. “The Titanic was build by professionals, while Noah's Ark by an amateur,” Salaru said, stressing that the Transport Ministry will work to improve the condition of the roads and to develop the public-private partnership by attracting investments.
The ministers will swear an oath on Friday afternoon. They will start work on the same day . The first meeting of the Government will start at 22.00, on September 25.
