New members on Chisinau Council

The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) has three new members who came to replace the three councilors who won the seat of MP. These are two councilors elected on the Communist ticket, one of whom on February 26 announced that he will join the Socialists, and a councilor elected on the list of the Liberal Party. The Communist faction in the CMC has a new head, IPN reports.

The places of the former councilors elected on the Communist ticket Boris Golovin and Elena Hrenova (who afterward joined the Party of Socialists) will be taken by politologist Nicolai Rusol and former manager of BASA-Press Agency Dmitri Mitioglo. The latter announced he defects from the Communist faction to the Socialist one.

Natalia Vysotina will replace Boris Golovin as head of the Communist faction.

Liberal MP Iurie Darda is to be substituted by the head of the Chisinau City Hall’s Foreign Relations Division Gabriela Ciumac, who is the next substitute candidate on the Liberal Party’s list. She is to take a decision whether to accept the post of councilor or not as she will have to leave her current post.
