Tatiana Barburoș was named member of the Central Election Commission (CEC) by the votes of 55 MPs. The new CEC member took an oath of office in the March 2 plenary sitting of Parliament, IPN reports.
Since 2010 until present, Tatiana Barburoș had worked at the State Chancellery.
The CEC has nine members. Eight of these are designated by Parliament. One member is proposed by the Head of State. The CEC members are irremovable and cannot be members of political parties or other sociopolitical organizations.
Tatiana Barburoș replaces Sergiu Gurduza on the Commission.
