A meeting of the key negotiators to the Transnistrian conflict settlement talks of Chisinau and Tiraspol was scheduled for next week. Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Gheorghe Balan has told IPN that he could not take part in the meeting fixed by the political representative of Tiraspol Vitally Ignatyev for today, March 11.

Gheorghe Balan said the key negotiator of Tiraspol suggested that the next meeting in the 1+1 format should take place today. He sent a letter to Vitally Ignatyev by which he informed this that he will be unable to take part in this meeting owing to his tight schedule, in particular the March 11 joint meeting of the Government and Parliament.

Meanwhile, the Transnistrian press quoted Vitaly Ignatyev as saying that the official Chisinau actually does not want to restore the dialogue and the Moldovan authorities only simulate the resumption of the discussions halted over five months ago.
