The surgeons of the Chisinau Children’s Hospital “Valentin Ignatenko” and of the Emergency Hospital received two sets of modern surgical instruments that meet the quality and hygiene standards. The donation was made by Edelweiss Foundation, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Foundation, the directors of the two medical institutions Nicolae Starciuc and Gheorghe Ciobanu were handed over the two sets of professional equipment on July 26. One set contains such essential medical equipment for surgery as: electrical modular, Jacobs chuck with 1,000 rotations per minute, Lithium accumulator, battery transfer kit, oscillating blade, oscillating saw adaptor and other tools to the value of 268, 800 lei.
Edelweiss founder Vlad Plahotniuc met with the two directors, saying that the state does not have the necessary resources to resolve all the difficult situations in different areas, while the public acquisition procedures take time. “I heard the doctors saying that the operations needed by the children with traumas may stop. In such an emergency, we decided to make common cause and provide assistance swiftly,” he said.
He also said that the foundation will support the measures that the Ministry of Health will propose after the investigation at the “Valentin Ignatenko” Hospital is completed. “The modernization process must be continued at the lever of state policies, without delay, so as to make sure that the people enjoy civilized treatment conditions and work conditions in all the areas. I will contribute to the process as a politician and as a citizen,” stated Vlad Plahotniuc.
The donation made to the two hospitals forms part of the series of charity and social solidarity activities carried out by Edelweiss Foundation over time. Since its establishment, Edelweiss made donations of over 17 million lei.
