The inhabitants of Iserlia village of Basarabeasca district chose their mayor in the runoff vote on November 13. Ludmila Rotari, of the Political Party “Our Party”, emerged victorious with almost 66% of the vote, IPN reports.
According to the Central Election Commission, over 500 voters cast their ballots in the runoff, which is over 55% of the electors in the village. Independent candidate Maria Kvasnitskaya won slightly over 34% of the poll.
The term in office of the mayor of Iserlia ended before time in connection with his death.
