New laptops for over 900 schools in Moldova

More than 900 educational institutions in Moldova are being supplied with laptops by the Ministry of Education and Research. A consignment of 5,020 laptops is being distributed to primary and secondary schools and lyceums, IPN reports.

The equipment was purchased within the Moldova Education Reform Project that is implemented with the financial support of the World Bank. The institutions were chosen depending on the number of students and the ratio of units of equipment to students. The institutions will be supplied with three to 24 laptops.

Attending the distribution event, secretary of state Valentina Olaru said that a reform in education means the adjustment of the educational system to the new tendencies and necessities. The laptops will contribute to ensuring a more attractive process of study for students and teachers.

In the course of this year, the Ministry of Education and Research also offered 1,480 laptops, 340 computers and 2,174 tablets to schools. In total, the general educational institutions in Moldova on August 1 had 49,250 units of computation equipment.
