The Energy Faculty of the Technical University of Moldova (UTM) has a modern laboratory for studying electric power distribution systems. The laboratory was created by Gas Union Fenosa – the new trademark of Red Union Fenosa, Info-Prim Neo reports. The laboratory was set up under a cooperation agreement between Red Union Fenosa and the UTM, which was signed on October 22, 2008. “This laboratory represents a step towards ensuring the support needed in the teaching process. Our students do internships at the company, while the teachers of the Energy Faculty take part in different consultancy projects implemented in the energy sector,” first pro-rector of the UTM Petru Todos said during the opening of the lab. Red Union Fenosa president Silvia Radu assured that the company will continue to support the students and teachers of the UTM. “Today we witnessed the opening of a modern laboratory outfitted with four digitized stands that will enable to model different systems with the help of the computer. These advanced learning conditions will help the students to accumulate new knowledge and experience, which they can later use at Gas Natural Fenosa in Moldova or in any other of the 25 countries where the company works, or at other companies where they will work,” said Slvia Radu. Under the cooperation agreement between Red Union Fenosa and the UTM, a database about the company will be created at the University by furnishing the necessary information. There will be also set up a lecture room and a modern lab for seminars on the equipment and installations of power distribution systems. The UTM will also benefit from specialized literature. For its part, the University will organize job fairs, career days and thematic roundtable meetings that will involve specialists of the company, will examine the company's proposals as regards the education programs, and will recommend graduates of the UTM for being employed at the company.
