New intensive care and reanimatology unit inaugurated at Saint Trinity Hospital

A new intensive care and reanimatology unit was officially opened at Saint Trinity Hospital in Chisinau. The event coincided with the celebration of the 45th anniversary of the founding of the medical institution. The ward has 14 beds and was fully outfitted for providing intensive care services. The extensive repair works to the value of 10 million lei were financed by the municipality, while the costs for equipment were covered by the Ministry of Health, the World Bank and other foreign partners, IPN reports, quoting the Chisinau City Hall.

Now the hospital will have the largest intensive care unit in the country, with 68 bed. The new section was equipped with oxygen supply, ventilation, vacuum and other necessary systems. The investments totaled about 50 million lei, said Saint Trinity Hospital director Oleg Crudu.

The head of the intensive care and reanimatology unit Alexandru Cornogolub said that by this new unit, a dream of employees of Saint Trinity Hospital and of patients to benefit from state-of-the-art medical services and technologies came true. The modern equipment enables to apply new technologies and advanced treatment methods so as to offer patients in a critical condition the chance of survival.
