New installment of Russian financial aid reaches Transnistria
The Russian Federation granted Transnistria 223.5 million Russian rubles (7.2 million dollars) – the third installment of the aid provided in 2009 within the 2-year humanitarian project (2008-2009). The money has already been transferred to the accounts of the Supreme Council, Transnistria’s legislative body, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Transnistrian Olvia-press Agency.
The money will be used for pension raises, improvement of food supply for orphanages, boarding schools, foster homes and maternity hospitals in the region.
In February 2009, Transnistria received 255 million rubles (8.2 million dollars), in March – 242 million rubles (7.8 million dollars).
A total of 452 million rubles (14.6 million dollars) were transferred in 2008.
