Termoelectrica will install top-notch heat meters in 230 Chisinau apartment blocks. Installation started today and will be completed in six weeks, the utility said in a press release.

According to Termoelectrica, the new metering devices will improve accuracy and transparency of how much heat is used. They will also enable greater capacity to archive meter readings. Due to their remote data transmission features, processes will be automated and inspectors will be able to get highly accurate readings at any time.

Termoelectrica director Veaceslav Eni says the replacement is in line with the utility’s 2018 investment plan and is a top priority, given that many meters that are to be replaced this year are as old as 20 years.

“We seek to achieve in several years a unified data recording system and equip all apartment buildings with modern and accurate metering devices, which will benefit both consumers and Termoelectrica as a utility company”, says Veaceslav Eni.

Termoelectrica now uses over 8,000 metering devices to keep track of the heat delivered to district heating users across Chisinau.
