New head appointed for winemaking and winegrowing sector
Iurie Brumarel will head the unit for the implementation of the wine industry revitalization program, in accordance with a decision taken Thursday by the Government, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Iurie Brumarel has worked for projects financed by the World Bank, the Food and Agriculture Organization and other international projects. Currently, he works with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.
The financing agreement with the Council of Europe Investment Bank in the amount of €75 million for supporting the wine industry revitalization program is set to be signed on November 18.
The money provided within the program is intended for companies that make wines of a high quality and institutions specialized in scientific research and training of personnel in the given areas.
Other foreign donors are expected to financially support the program at the next implementation stages.
