New group of policemen become trainers in corruption prevention and fighting

Fifty-eight policemen became trainers authorized to instruct the personnel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in preventing and fighting corruption, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the website of Moldova’s Threshold Country Program. The policemen in November attended four regional training courses on ethics and anticorruption for deputy commissioners on personnel and education, including zonal officers of the Internal Security Division. The courses were held in accordance with the stipulations of the Millennium Challenge Corporation Threshold Country Program. The courses centered on the methods and instruments for preventing and combating corruption among employees of the Interior Ministry. They also focused on the legal-criminal aspects of corruption offenses, ways of identifying and documenting such cases and aspects of criminal procedure and criminology. At the end of the training courses, the participants took tests. Afterward, the U.S. Department of Justice’s program manager in Moldova Robert Corbun handed trainer certificates over to the 58 policemen.
