The Government on Friday, April 25, discharged Ion Ceban from the office of Deputy Minister of Education and Youth, accepting the tendered resignation. Ion Ceban was replaced by Galina Bulat, previously deputy department head at MEY. The Government also accepted the resignation of Vadim Smantana from the position of vice-director of the state Sports Agency. Anatolie Zapanovici, from unofficial sources a former intelligence officer, became deputy head of the Government Office, while Alexei Varlan, former deputy department head at the Chisinau City Hall, was named as Deputy Minister of Transport and Road Management.
