The new natural gas rates are to be examined and approved by the National Agency for Energy Regulation on August 4. The meeting starts at 3pm, IPN reports.

The draft decision published by the Agency says the rate was proposed to be 21.29 lei without VAT at exit points of low pressure gas distribution pipelines.

Earlier, SA Moldovagaz requested the Agency to approve a rate of 27.30 lei without VAT, which would start to be applied on July 1.

In June, the natural gas rate for end users was raised to 17.24 lei per cubic meter of gas without VAT (18.61 lei with VAT). Later, the National Agency for Energy Regulation partially accepted the request to increase the rate.
