Minister of Youth and Sport Victor Zubcu told a news conference that no matter who takes over the powers of the Ministry of Youth and Sport as a result of the administrative reform, what has been done in the youth sector will be continued because this sector is a national priority, IPN reports.
The minister said that under the Law on the Youth, a new entity will be constituted not to substitute, but to complement the authority responsible for the youth sector. This will have the status of agency and will be called the National Agency for Youth Program and Activities Development. This will take over all the youth programs from the Youth Division of the Ministry, including the Grants Programs. It will also be empowered to certify youth services and providers of such services.
Victor Zubcu also said that the standards for youth services are being tested. Besides the rigidity of the rules imposed by the sector, the authorities aim to ensure these meet the realities so that the youth centers are not obliged to obey rules that cannot be respected.
