New EGPRSP bulletin is available
A fair part of the objectives formulated in the Economic Growth and Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (EGPRSP) are still at hour for the next years, thus the implementation of EGPRSP will be extended for a period of time and its objectives will be kept on, is announced in the 12th number of EGPRSP bulletin, published on September 29.
In an article published in the bulletin is mentioned that during the last year, the number of children who came to boarding schools has reduced 2-fold. This result is due to the efficient collaboration between the civil society and public central and local authorities, which acknowledged the necessity of reforming the social policy in the field of children and family protection. For this purpose, 2 projects financed by the European Union within the frameworks of TACIS program are working in Moldova. These projects aim at reducing boarders and creating alternative children and family care services at community level.
The draft law on dwellings, which stipulates construction of social dwellings for socially vulnerable persons is another subject tackled by the bulletin. According to the draft Law, only several categories of persons will benefit from social dwellings, among which, the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, the dwellings of whom are not anymore fit for living due to social or natural disasters, orphans, internally shifted persons from the eastern raions of Moldova etc. At the same time, even if these persons belong to a stipulated category, they will have the possibility to benefit from social dwellings only in case the income of each member of the family does not exceed the existence minimum.
EGPRSP bulletin is spread free of charge as supplement appended to many local and national newspapers from Moldova.
