New edition of the WebTop contest has been launched
The best web-pages will be evaluated within the „WebTop” contest launched on February, the 5th.
As of today, there are 16 sites registered for the competition. The registration is performed on the official contest web-site www.webtop.md. The evaluation of the best web-pages will involve experts from abroad, as has been announced during a press conference, on Monday, by the organizing committee. The Awarding Ceremony will take place in the period of April, 23-29, within the informational technologies week, that will also include other events important for the IT sector in Moldova.
The contest foresees 14 categories, including one category for an official site for the central public administration – ministries and agencies, offices, services. Currently, 90 per cent of the central public administration structures have their own official web-sites, claims Sergiu Sâtnic, head of the Direction within the Ministry of Informational Development. During this year, it could be possible for local public administration structures, at the level of raional councils, to have their individual official web-pages, added Sâtnic, and he also said it could be expectable that they might participate at the next year's edition of the „WebTop” contest.
For the first time, within „WebTop” there is a virtual exposition of sites launched, that will function as a promotion space. It is for the first time that the contest organizers will analyse and present information on the developmental trends of the informational technologies, internet's audience and its interest in Moldova.
The organizers have set the goal to transform this contest from an annual summarizing event into a permanent and sustainable activity, meant to contribute to the development of the informational society.
The „WebTop” contest is being organized in Moldova since 2001, supported by the Ministry of Informational Development, the Association of private Companies from this field, The Soros Foundation in Moldova, as well as by other international organizations.
