New edition of “Summart Painters’ Campus” to take place in Chisinau

The IV edition of the international painting camp “Summart Painters’ Campus” will be organised in Chisinau, at Leogrand Hotel. As previously, the event is organised under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Twelve painters from Turkey, one from Romania, Russia and Ukraine and five from Moldova came together in Chisinau to show their talent, exchange opinions, make friends and establish relations. Organised for the fourth time by “Leogrand” Ltd, this painting camp is included in field’s list of international events. The geography of the campus has extended, as it took place also in USA last year. Selection criteria of the painters were determined by Elena Garstea, graphic artist, member of Artists’ Union of Moldova and by Faruh Sade, a well known expert from Ankara, Turkey. As a result, those two created a group of young painters who will work on the subject proposed for this edition of the campus, “Human Being”, in lato senso, adapted to different styles and contexts. Leogrant Ltd, owner of Leogrand Hotel & Convention Centre, placed the studios of the painters in the halls of the hotel, reserving an entire floor for this purpose. The campus is the first stage of the social-cultural project launched by Leogrant Ltd in 2004. The second stage is organising an auction of the paintings created during the campus. The raised funds will be donated to the boarding-school of graphic arts “Igor Vieru”. For 3 years now, the young painters studying in this institution benefit from materials for painting. The school has 180 talented students from all over Moldova. Also, a catalogue will be published on the basis of the results of the creation campus.
