After the national football team of Moldova scored a draw with the national squad of Russia last October, on January 18 the national Under 21 team also drew the second match at the CIS Cup against Russia, IPN reports.
The team trained by Igor Ursachi led by 2-0 after the goals scored by Rosca and Rogac. The hosts replied through Evseev, who scored two goals. The final scoreline was set in the 93rd minute.
“We lacked concentration, but are anyway satisfied with the result. The national team of Russia is the favorite of the competition and we were several second close to a surprise,” the coach of the Under 21 team Igor Ursachi told a news conference.
The Under 21 squad also drew the first match played at the CIS Cup, against the team of Kirgizstan. In the next duel, it needs a victory against Latvia in order to qualify for the next stage.
