The National Cinematography Center managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research will have a new director who was chosen at a contest. The Ministry selected film producer Valentina Iusuphodjaev as the winner of the contest, IPN reports.
Under the Regulations concerning the organization and functioning of the National Cinematography Center, the institution’s director is named by the Government at the suggestion of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research.
The film producer was among the filmmakers who in 2017 stated that the National Cinematography Center discredited Moldovan cinematography at the national and foreign levels, while the then director of the institution Valeriu Jereghi persecuted the filmmakers who didn’t share his views.
The National Cinematography Center of Moldova is a public institution that implements the state policy in the field of cinematography.
